1972 Pelin Custom 42.5

This Custom Pelin 42.5 was built approx 1972 by Calypso Boats in Tauranga with Double Diagonal Kauri Planking glued with epoxy.  The hull and deck are also both glassed.  She has been with the same owner for 33 years and is now for sale.  The owner says she was perviously owned as part of Kelly Tarltons for trips up to the Three Kings.

The layout is perfect for a live aboard boat.  Plenty of interior seating within the main saloon.  Move forward to the raised helm position to give good views from the helm, then down into the forward saloon in the bow with galley and various seating and sleeping accomodations.  The interior could use a spruce up with new paint and ideally new upholstery, but she currently works well as she is.

Powered by a 130hp Gardner Diesel with shaft drive, she will cruise at 900RPM all day giving 6-8 knots.  The engine was reconditioned approx 20 years ago and has keel cooling and a dry exhaust and does not smoke.  The shaft is 2 inch diameter and a she has a deep sea seal.  Included in the purchase are two inflatable tenders and a new 3.3hp outboard.

Asking price just lowered from $75,000 to $65,000.
